Dilbert Daily Comic Strip

Comic for April 23, 2017
Dilbert readers – Please visit Dilbert.com to read this feature. Due to changes with our feeds, we are now making this RSS feed a link to Dilbert.com.

I posted Dilbert on my blog in part because I love Dilbert. This is the one comic strip I read religiously every day.

The other reason I made this post is to experiment with dynamic content in my WordPress site. By default WordPress only lets you add RSS feeds to the sidebar, not to a post. The reason for this is to combat spam blogs or “Splogs” where there is no original content. I put the Dilbert RSS feed into my post using the CaRP PHP RSS parser and the Exec-PHP WordPress plugin. CaRP parses most any RSS feed so that it can be added to a HTML page and Exed-PHP allows it to work on a WordPress post. As you can see it works.

Is it possible for you to tellme how can I do it on my wordpress blog? I want to show the dilbert strip like you did.

@nasaa: This was one of my early experiments with using RSS feeds in WordPress using the PHP programs I was used to using in my standard HTML websites. As you can see it does work and if you follow the links to CaRP and Exec-PHP you will find all the info. on how to set it up like I did here.

An easier way to do it is with the RSS in Page WordPress plugin. I’m using it on several of my sites. It is simple to use, just install the plugin and add a shortcode with the RSS feed URL to any page you wish it to appear.
