2011 AMA Season Kicks Off Live on TV Saturday

2010 Daytona 200 Start

It is a new year and a new race season has begun. WSBK has already started and AMA starts this weekend with the 70th running of the Daytona 200. AFM starts next week then MotoGP.

AMA Pro Racing announced that Speed will provide a live coverage of the 2011 Daytona 200 AMA Pro Road Racing event, Saturday March 12 at 10:00 AM PST. The live broadcast on SPEED Daytona International Speedway will be hosted by Leigh Diffey, who will be accompanied by “Mr. Daytona” Scott Russell, and pit reporters Greg White and Jason Pridmore. This year’s Daytona 200 will return to the start time Saturday afternoon and will feature drivers and teams from the Daytona AMA Pro class sportbike.

I find it amazing that broadcasting the biggest American motorcycle race live is a big deal!?! Speed TV really sucks but it is all we have. I really wish there was foreign interest in American racing so that I could watch BBC or Eurosport broadcasts the way I to for MotoGP and WSBK. I’ll still be watching Saturday. I’ll just start watching about 10:40 AM so that I can fast forward through the commercials and hope nothing good happened during them.

Besides the live coverage of the Daytona 200, the AMA Superbike race Pro National Guard (Sat. March 12, 8:00 PM PST) and AMA Pro Flat Track Daytona Flat Track action (Sun. March 13, 12:00 PM PST).

One Response to 2011 AMA Season Kicks Off Live on TV Saturday

  1. Craig Harris says:

The 2011 Daytona 200 is over and I have to say that DMG SUCKS! AMA SUCKS! SPEEDTV SUCKS! and for providing unsafe tires to every rider in the field this year DUNLOP SUCKS! Who sucks the most? Guess they have another season to foul up.

It usually takes me a little longer into the season to be fully embarrassed by the American Professional Motorcycle Racing establishment. Good job this year at showing just how inept you all are right out of the gate.

Congrats to Matt and David for surviving the mayhem!
