I really enjoyed your story about Kirby. He does sound like Thor's brother. Thor too is an expert at sound effects. Some of them amaze me as they show just how aware Thor is as to what is going on in the house.

For a while Thor and I lived at my mothers house. Her dishwasher door makes a squeak when you open it. Of course Thor learned to do a good copy of that squeak. When we moved into our current house I put in a brand new dishwasher with a virtually silent door. Thor's cage is in the living room near the kitchen but he can't see in at all. Every time we open the dishwasher he makes the squeak my mothers dishwasher makes. How does he know? He can't see at all. If he could how would he know that my white dishwasher is the same as my moms black dishwasher? He has to have incredible hearing to even hear the door on my new dishwasher.

Thor doesn't have any other parrots to bully but he is very protective of his cage. If anyone trys to mess with something on his he will charge them yelling "NOOO, Stop It!" Thor has even learned how to work the spring clips that hold his cage cover on. He insists on taking the cover off his cage himself.

Thor also does a lot of mutual preening and he French kisses too. He demands a good cuddle everyday. For some reason he says "Nite Nite" when he wants his cuddle. It also means that it is time for bed. I don't know why he has assigned two meanings to the same phrase but he has.

Thor really beats the cr*p out of his hanging toys. Once he got a trip to the vet. because of a really swollen eye. After he got checked the vet. and I determined that it was just the result of one of his toys fighting back and hitting him in the eye.

Thor has calmed down a little since he has matured. He doesn't chew toys nearly as much but he does enjoy bashing and throwing them.

Of course we love having Thor around. He is just a little green person who rooms with us.
