I'd go for the larger powder coated cage. I got Thor a large powder coated cage and it has worked out well. He did chew on the bars quite a bit when he was younger but doesn't much anymore.

For the birds happiness choosing the proper cage locat1on is most important. Thor's cage is in a place such that he can see me in my office from one side of the cage and watch tv with me from the other side of the cage. It is also next to a window so he can watch the activity in our back yard. Capes are very smart and need mental stimulation as much as if not more than physical activity. Once you locate the best spot in your home for the cage get the largest that will fit.

I need to add a plug for "play top" cages. Thor loves his play top and highly recommends them.

Another recommendation. A friend of mine gave me a Craftsman pressure washer. I didn't know I needed one until I had one. Every few weeks I drag Thor,s cage outside and pressure wash it. It comes out looking like new with little effort. No chemicals, no scrubbing, just a blast of water and all the crud comes off.
