My brown headed cape parrot is only 3 months old, I have 2 questions 1) Although I am providing him with a highly recommended parrot food that seems to have absolutely everything in it, my bird has a great time digging out the sumflower seeds which obvously are his fav. My question is , can this harm him, this selective picking, I am concerned that he will not get the recommended nutrients by not eating enough of the other seeds, parrot pellets and fruit. My second question i feel is a dumb one, but what time should you put a parrot to sleep. He has quite a big jungle gym that I have made which he climbs about on during the day, at night he has a cage which is only used for night time to sleep, i read that parrots need their sleep, but just how much, i do not want to disturb any natural sleeping cycle.
