Dear Doris,
I am sure you are a responsible person and have a vested business interest in your commercial egg selling of parrots.
However, I cannot agree with this practice.
For over 25 years we have been documenting the serious health and behavioral problems of incubator raised psittacine chicks. They are often weaker than parent started nestbox babies; they have absolutely no individual species identity from their parents; they frequently grow up to be needy overly-human-impressed birds with behavior dysfunctions and social faults--certainly when it comes to perpetuating their own species as they grow into adulthood.
Furthermore, selling eggs and an incubator to strangers and prospective "handfeeders" has serious risks, should the new keepers be less skilled than you are.
I urge you to reconsider this commercial endeavor and focus your attentions on the conservation values of producing individual parrot babies with a strong personal childhood and parent association.
Egg factory breeding is an outdated concept in hookbill aviculture and does not do justice to the creatures we all profess to love.
Sincerely,
EB and April Cravens
