• Shy or aggressive around strangers: very shy
• Talking ability: does not talk that I'm aware of
• Noise Level: I hear them when I'm out of the room-reminds me of AG not loud
• Activity Level: When I'm in the room they just watch me. The hen occasionally comes down. She was hand fed is bold. The male is shy and watches me unless I get too close. Then he gets excited
• Likes to bathe: too shy for me to know if they enjoy or not. My Moluccan hen likes but she stands stiff. This bird has only one wing and is frightened of people. ( Don't know how she lost her wing) but I think she likes it g

• Territorial: hen seems to be somewhat territorial. She was not receptive to the male next door initially. Lately I see much paper shredding so I'm hopeful she has become more interested in the male. Have not as yet put them in the same cage

  I have a number of poicephalous and have been raising them about twelve years. They are my favorite group of birds. I don't believe I can comment on the pet quality of capes as mine are not tame. I have a friend,however, who has a young cape. She loves the bird and also hopes to breed them. I am looking for assistance in setting my pair up safely. I've never experienced one of my birds killing or maiming the other during breeding. If this could be an issue with the capes, I want to make sure I do everything I can prevent such aggression. I take that back. I did have a gr Jardines male and female fight resulting in bites to both beaks. They are split now permanently. I believe the male was the aggressor here. With the cape, I suspect if their is an aggressor, it would be the hen. This thought surprises me but I stick by it based on my early observations. Troy thought she may have been originally paired with a sibling. She has laid infertile eggs according to him but the male thought the plumbing got hooked up on her head??? I now think she may be ready for this male open to suggestions for introductions.
